Undergraduate Researchers
Kenneth Hsu (he/him)
I am a senior from Alamo, California pursuing a Chemistry and History double major and a concentration in Biochemistry. On campus I play badminton and have fun at various interest house events. Outside of Haverford, I enjoy backpacking, reading, and exploring museums.
Vy Le (she/her)
I am a senior from Pennsauken, New Jersey majoring in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry. After graduation, I plan to attend medical school at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, as part of the Penn PASS linkage program. As a Penn SUMR scholar, I also work on two projects at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) investigating environmental influences on infant and children’s health outcomes.
Aside from academics, I play on the women’s field hockey team, am a First-Generation Low-Income Student Mentor, and an Office of Academics Resources STEM Peer Coach. I am the co-founder of Inclusive Lifting Club, a Customs Peer Academic Facilitator, and served two terms as Students’ Council Officer of Athletics. In my free time, I enjoy cooking and lifting weights!
Areta Bifendeh (she/her)
I am from the northwest region of Cameroon. I am in the graduating class of 2025, and am a chemistry major and a health studies minor. I also enjoy watching a diverse set of tv shows from different parts of the world.
Quynh Vo (she/her)
I am a senior from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania pursuing a major in Chemistry and a minor in Asian American Studies. On campus, I am co-head of the Chemistry Student Group, a member of the Customs Committee, an Admissions Office fellow, and a member of the Pan-Asian Resource Center. In my free time, I enjoy reading books, playing volleyball, and barista-ing!
Zoe Ozols (she/her)
I am a senior from South Salem, NY majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Neuroscience and Environmental Studies. At Haverford, I am a co-head of the climbing club and fiber arts club, and am a chemistry peer tutor with the OAR. In my free time, I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee with the Sneetches, hiking with my dogs, and trying out new recipes!
Jana Bowler (she/her)
I am a junior from Salt Lake City, Utah pursuing a major in Chemistry, minor in Statistics, and a Biochemistry concentration. Outside of Haverford, I enjoy skiing, hiking with my dog and family, and playing the banjo and piano.
Grace King (she/her)
I am a junior from Marblehead, Massachusetts pursuing a chemistry major and health studies minor. At Haverford, I play on the Bi-Co Sneetch ultimate frisbee team, am on the Students for Reproductive Health board, and peer tutor for the OAR. Outside of school, I enjoy spending lots of time outside, reading, and cooking with friends!

I am a junior from Haddonfield, New Jersey majoring in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry and minoring in Health Studies. On campus, I am a member of the Muslim Students Association, Intramural Tennis, and a peer tutor for the OAR. In my free time, I enjoy reading, lifting and hanging out with friends.
Carter Kroenke (he/him)
I am a sophomore from Portland, Oregon, and a prospective Chemistry major. On campus, I am a member of the men’s soccer team and the Chemistry Student Group. In my free time, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, and spending time with friends.
Postdoctoral Scholar and Research Assistant
Yae In Cho (she/her) Postdoctoral Scholar
I am a Postdoctoral Scholar with a background in synthetic inorganic chemistry. I am originally from South Korea and received my PhD degree from UT Austin under the supervision of Prof. Michael Rose, where I worked on synthetic models of [Fe]-hydrogenase. I am very interested in working in multidisciplinary fields where experts from different backgrounds can freely share their ideas for a common goal. Outside the lab, I love cooking & baking, gardening, working on art projects, and exploring art museums.
Charlie Ferguson (he/him) Research Assistant
I graduated from Haverford in December 2023 with a major in chemistry (biochemistry concentration) and a minor in philosophy. I did my undergrad research in the Londergan Lab and I’m now working full-time in the Charkoudian Lab. When I’m not playing with proteins in the lab I enjoy running and reading.

I have the greatest job in the world! I get to work alongside this amazing team of researchers and teach courses related to chemistry and biochemistry. I’m passionate about the chemistry-biology interface, collaborations, undergraduate education, and equity and justice. Outside work, I enjoy building forts and having living room dance parties with my family, staying active outside, and connecting with friends.
